Lead AI Engineer
Basics:
Circa 90K base
Remote first. some expectation to be on-site across a few different locations (Birmingham / London) your base is whatever's closer, anything else can be expensed - typically at a few days a month on-site.
Can come from a Senior background, stepping up to Lead, not a Team management role.
We're looking for a Senior AI/GenAI Engineer to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale Generative AI and agentic AI solutions.
The role involves defining AI architecture, designing production-grade AI agents, implementing RAG solutions, integrating LLMs with enterprise tools and APIs, and building secure, scalable AI platforms with strong governance and Responsible AI principles.
We're particularly interested in people with experience in:
- Enterprise GenAI and LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Llama)
- AI agent frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel or Azure AI Studio
- RAG architecture, prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks and guardrails
- Python, SQL and ideally Databricks/PySpark
- Azure, AWS or multi-cloud AI platforms
- MLOps, CI/CD, testing, monitoring and production deployment of AI solutions
- Integrating AI with enterprise systems, workflows and APIs
The role also involves working closely with architecture, cyber security, product and engineering teams to shape AI strategy, evaluate emerging technologies, and establish best practices for enterprise AI adoption.
