Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) Developer to join a growing team delivering high-quality ERP solutions. This is a hands-on development role focused on designing, developing, and enhancing Business Central solutions for a range of client projects.

You'll work across the full software development lifecycle, from building new functionality and integrations to supporting upgrades, troubleshooting, and ongoing product enhancements. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with technical and functional specialists while contributing to the delivery of innovative Business Central solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Customisation

• Design, develop, and maintain AL extensions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Customise and extend standard Business Central functionality to meet client requirements.
• Develop and maintain integrations with third-party applications using APIs and web services.
• Support Business Central upgrades, migrations, and performance optimisation initiatives.
• Produce high-quality, well-documented code and participate in code reviews to ensure development best practices.

Project Delivery & Collaboration

• Work closely with technical and functional teams to deliver solutions that meet business requirements.
• Translate functional specifications into scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to technical design, effort estimation, sprint planning, and solution architecture discussions.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT), investigate issues, and deliver timely resolutions.

Support & Continuous Improvement

• Provide third-line technical support for Business Central environments.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues.
• Identify recurring problems and recommend long-term improvements to enhance system stability and performance.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• 4+ years' experience developing solutions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • AL development
  • Business Central Extensions (V2)
  • Business Central SaaS/Cloud environments
  • API integrations and web services
• Experience working with source control tools such as Git.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and DevOps pipelines (desirable).
• Previous Microsoft Dynamics NAV (C/AL) development experience is advantageous.

Functional Knowledge

A solid understanding of one or more of the following Business Central modules:

• Finance
• Inventory & Warehouse Management
• Procurement & Supply Chain
• Sales & Distribution

The ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions is essential.

Desirable Skills

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

• Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps)
• Azure integration technologies (Logic Apps, Event Hubs, Azure Functions, etc.)
• Third-party Business Central add-ons and extensions
