The challenge 

Human Made Machine is a fast-growing MarTech business entering its next phase of scale and innovation. With the Co-Founder stepping back from day-to-day responsibilities, the business needed a new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead its technology strategy, elevate delivery and align the function with ambitious growth goals. 

This was a critical leadership hire. The right CTO needed to be not only technically excellent but also commercially astute, a strong cultural fit, and able to gain credibility quickly across the executive team. Human Made Machine engaged Revoco on a retained search to deliver a targeted, high-quality process. 

Our approach 

Revoco approached the project as a tailored executive search campaign focused on precision, pace and fit. 

  • Discovery & briefing: We worked closely with the Co-Founder and Head of People to shape the role profile and define what great looked like, from experience and leadership qualities to industry insight and future potential. 
  • Market mapping & outreach: Using our networks and headhunting expertise, we mapped the relevant market, focusing on candidates with both the calibre and aspirations aligned to the company’s future. 
  • Shortlisting: We delivered a carefully curated shortlist of five high-quality candidates, each fully briefed, interviewed, and vetted. 
  • Selection process: Of the five shortlisted, four were interviewed. One standout candidate was fast-tracked through second and third stage interviews based on strong alignment with the business’s needs and values.
