Job Title: Payment Analyst
Location: London, 5 day's onsite p/w
Salary: £40,000
The Payments Analyst will support the day-to-day processing of payments, foreign exchange (FX) bookings, reporting activities, and account reconciliations. The organisation operates with a lean team and values close collaboration across all departments to maintain a high standard of service.
This role requires strong communication skills, particularly when interacting with clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and meeting tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Processing
● Process UK domestic payments, including BACS, CHAPS, and Faster Payments (incoming and outgoing).
● Process international payments (incoming and outgoing).
● Handle SWIFT payments via SWIFT platforms (e.g., MT103, MT199).
● Perform second checks and authorise manually entered or repaired domestic and international payments.
● Conduct payment investigations under management supervision.
FX & Treasury Support
● Book FX transactions.
● Assist with treasury operations and account reconciliation.
● Monitor card transactions.
● Work with counterparty banks to confirm or investigate outstanding items.
Client & Internal Liaison
● Liaise with relationship teams and clients regarding rejected or exceptional items and required documentation.
● Communicate with clients on payment and account enquiries, ensuring a high level of customer service.
● Support the Compliance team with transaction monitoring.
Documentation & Administration
● Maintain and update procedural documentation.
● Archive daily records and payment documentation.
● Resolve issues promptly to minimise client dissatisfaction and prevent potential revenue loss.
