I’ve been in recruitment for more than *gulps* 20 years, and a huge amount has changed in that time.
We used to put job ads in papers and keep our fingers crossed that we’d receive some CVs in the post. Technology has changed the industry beyond recognition and with it the expectations of candidates. Today, they’re looking for clarity, simplicity, transparency, efficiency and timely feedback. In short, a great experience.
Employers, too, have come to expect a lot. Surrounded by so much technology designed to enhance the hiring process, they feel they should be inundated with prospective candidates. That’s the theory, at least.
In reality, employers are often left struggling to find the skills they need and job seekers are left feeling frustrated with the process, wondering where it all went wrong.
But it doesn’t have to be this way…
If you’re looking for your perfect role in tech (or to fill a vacancy), a specialist recruiter could hold the key to success.
Just last month, I was reading about a new survey that asked jobseekers the best way to find the perfect role. Their answer? Building relationships with specialist recruitment agencies. Apparently, 64% of candidates used a recruitment agency to find at least one job last year. A wise choice, if I do say so myself.
I was also interested to read in that same survey that rather than money being the main driver for individuals looking for a new job, having a good relationship and clear communication with their recruitment consultant was top of their list of priorities.
I’ve got to say, that’s really good to hear. Considering recruiters were once pigeon-holed alongside used-car and double-glazing salesmen (ouch!), we’ve come a long way. Although, I guess it couldn’t have gotten any worse.
Engaging with candidates, truly understanding the needs of employers, matching talent to roles, and ensuring compliance are all par for the course for a specialist recruiter.
I don’t want to blow our own trumpet (well actually, I do) but here at Revoco, we pride ourselves on keeping up to date with trends and changes in the tech market, finding the right cultural fit, keeping costs low, and helping businesses build a strong employer value proposition.
We make it our mission to get to know you as a person – what your aspirations are and what type of role is right for you. Perhaps you need to work flexibly around the kids? Maybe you have particularly niche skills.
Whatever you’re looking for in a role, we won’t just pay lip service to your requirements, we’ll go the extra mile to find you the job of your dreams. Perhaps it’s time you gave us a call?
